CRITIC'S CHOICE: THE FA CUP FINAL, BBC1, 12.40PM, SKY SPORTS 1/HD1, 2PM *****
Saturday May 17,2008
FA Cup holders Chelsea are out of the picture this time
WELL, we never saw this one coming, did we?
It's 69 years since Portsmouth won the FA Cup, and an even more
mind-boggling 81 since Cardiff City took the trophy back to Wales.
So although this afternoon's starting elevens hadn't been announced at
the time we went to press, I've a sneaking suspicion we could see
several changes from those original line-ups.
This year's FA CUp has been packed with shocks and surprises (who can
forget Barnsley topping holders Chelsea, tee-hee?) so it's right and
fitting that the final itself should reflect this.
All too often, it's an occasion that turns out to be a crushing
anti-climax - but maybe, with the big boys out of the picture for once,
we're in for an absolute classic.
Alternatively, maybe we're not.

Crime novelist Agatha Christie
BACK in 1926, something unusual happened.
Yes, Cardiff City embarked on what would be their only triumphant FA Cup campaign to date.
But also, crime novelist Agatha Christie vanished for 10 days.
There's been much debate as to why, but here comes a new theory - involving a very large alien wasp.
Felicity Kendal and Fenella Woolgar guest in this episode.
PUSHING DAISIES, ITV1, 9.00PM, ****
Saturday May 17,2008
Chuck goes investigating tonight
CHUCK, Ned and Emerson investigate the strange case of Napleon LeNez, a smell specialist whose life seems rather keen to terminate.
So far, mind you, the only victim has been one of his students, killed when a scratch 'n sniff patch in LeNez's soon-to-be-published book exploded in her face.
