QUEEN TO CURRY FAVOUR ON ROYAL VISIT

Friday May 18,2007

SHE’S sat through countless boring roast lamb state banquets during her years on the throne but the Queen is in for a spicy treat next week when she and Prince Philip tuck into an Indian feast during a visit to Huddersfield.

The monarch – usually known for her liking of plain food – will sample lamb kofta, masala fish and karahi okra, poppadums and pickles. The idea was put forward by officials in the Yorkshire town, which has a large Asian population.

“It’s the first time in my experience that the Queen has had an Indian lunch on one of these visits,” says a courtier about the Kashmiri banquet, which will be cooked by restaurant chain Mumtaz.

“It’s every chef’s dream to cook for the Queen so this is a special day,” said director Rab Nawaz.

It is not known if the royal couple have expressed a preference for Cobra or Kingfisher lager with their meal.

QUEEN CURRY FAVOUR

19.05.07, 9:21pm

If I were the queen I would NOT eat in this eating house.
My friend who used to work in such places said it was usual to taint the food in some way of someone famous.
I cannot say more as it would make you sick.

UGH.
