PAUL MCCARTNEY 'REGRETS' PUTTING THE FIRE OUT

Saturday November 8,2008

With the latest musical effort from Sir Paul McCartney being regarded as his most cutting-edge in years, we hear the former Beatle – crowned MTV Europe Awards’ Ultimate Legend in Liverpool this week – is regretting he chose to release it under a pseudonym.

The 66-year-old’s dance album Electric Arguments is to hit the shelves under his alter-ego The Fireman, on November 24 and his single Nothing Too Much Just Out Of Sight has been described as the “hottest record in the world right now” by trendy Radio 1 DJ Zane Lowe.

One well-placed Macca source reveals: “Paul has been rather taken aback by the initial very positive response and now  regrets the album’s getting a rather low-key release under his Fireman pseudonym.

"With the benefit of hindsight, he would have put it out as an official Paul McCartney album.”
