VIDEO: THE INCREDIBLE BLOGGING PLANT
By Emily Garnham for express.co.uk
A POT PLANT which 'writes’ its own blog has become an international celebrity.
Midori-San, a 16 inch plant which lives on the counter of a Japanese café, is hooked up to sensors.
It's heart-shaped green leaves are sensitive to light and human touch with data picked up electronically by the detectors and sent to a computer.
The computer combines the data with weather reports and temperature and translates them into Japanese, which are automatically posted on THE PLANT'S BLOG
"Today was a sunny day and I was able to sunbathe a lot... I had quite a bit of fun today," wrote Midori-San - whose name means ‘green’ - on October 16.
Another recent entry reads: "It was cloudy today. It was a cold day."
Satoshi Kuribayashi, a researcher involved in the project at Japan’s Keio University, said: "We were initially interested in what plants are feeling and what they are reacting to where we can’t see.”
