Kaka kills off Fergie's final hope

The dream all-English final was washed away in the San Siro last night as Manchester United were beaten 3-0 by AC Milan in a rain-swept Champions League semi-final.

The Italians will now meet Liverpool in Athens in a repeat of the 2005 final – and United can have no complaints.

They were outplayed and the tone was set as early as the 11th minute when the impressive Kaka put the Italians level on aggregate with a sharp shot from the edge of the area.

Worse was to follow for United as Clarence Seedorf fired a second into the same corner on the half hour. And Milan wrapped it up after 78 minutes when Alberto Gilardino burst clear to slot past Edwin Van der Sar and seal a 5-3 aggregate win.
