Chris Sutton's career might be over

Wednesday May 2,2007

CHRIS SUTTON will decide by the end of the week whether to retire because of his serious eye problem.

The Aston Villa striker has been battling to overcome blurred vision for four months.

He will discover results of his latest trip to the specialist in the next few days, but Villa manager Martin O’Neill believes the34-year-old is ready to give up the battle to save his career.

“There has been no significant improvement in the eye and that is pretty disheartening,” said O’Neill.

“The vision has not cleared and he is thinking, with what remains of his career, is it worth damaging his other eye?”
