By Julia White for express.co.uk

FIVE soldiers have been sacked from the Army after failing a drugs test, the Ministry of Defence has confirmed.

The soldiers, from the King's Troop, Royal Horse Artillery, were caught out during a routine test.

An MoD spokesman would not name the drug involved but it is believed to be a Class A substance.

He said: “We can confirm that five members of King’s Troop, Royal Horse Artillery, London, have provided positive samples following their unit’s recent testing as part of the Army’s drug testing programme.

"Internal administrative action has been taken against all five soldiers.”

The King's Troop, Royal Horse Artillery, is responsible for guarding the Queen, amongst other duties.

The unit's main ceremonial role is to perform gun salutes to mark the Queen’s official birthday and other royal occasions.

Well done; Who wants drugged up soldiers, watching your back in a engagement with a enemy in any conflict; Not only that, they are not just a danger to themselves, they are putting their own squadron or Regiment at risk.
The army has a reputation to uphold; Thus they are second to none, because of their professionalism, discipline &dedication to duty.
Not only this ,but the forces in general whether it be a Army Regiment, Corp,R.A.F.Navy, Marines;there is a link they back up each other& work as a team;So therefore there are no need for drug's in the field of conflict.
