James Forrester in action before he was stretchered off

Sunday April 29,2007

By Gareth Roberts

DEAN RYAN'S men can look forward to a home game against Saracens in the semi-final play-offs next weekend, after this bonus-point win at Ashton Gate.

Bristol's fate will be settled at Leicester.

James Forrester's departure on a stretcher with a leg injury after four minutes was hardly the start Gloucester needed, but a Willie Walker penalty settled their nerves.

Walker hit two more penalties and then grabbed the game's first try after 28 minutes, before Bristol replied with a chip-and-chase effort by David Lemi.

But Gloucester finished the first-half on top with a Mark Foster try, to lead 21-9.

Jake Boer added to Bristol's agonies after the break, before Brian Lima struck back.

But Andy Hazell's bonus-point try effectively ended the contest.

GLOUCESTER      35
BRISTOL               13
