UK NEWSLABOUR MPS QUEUE UP TO KNIFE BROWN IN BACKTuesday July 29,2008 By Gabriel Milland Political CorrespondentA GROWING army of Labour MPs was last night breaking cover to launch attacks on Gordon Brown – including the first outright demand for him to quit.
The damning criticisms of his leadership came as deputy Labour leader Harriet Harman was forced to insist that the Prime Minister will not resign. [>
But her support included an admission that Britain had “not seen the best” of Mr Brown since he moved to Number 10. [>
Discontent and dismay is now spreading like wildfire through Labour ranks. [>
Gordon Prentice yesterday became the first MP to openly call on Mr Brown to admit he had been a failure as Prime Minister and quit. [>
He said: “A prime minister needs a different set of skills from a chancellor of the exchequer. [>
“A prime minister must be able to communicate, persuade and enthuse. If not, the message is lost.” [>
He added: “I hope Gordon reflects on things during August and accepts that it is in the party’s best interests, and perhaps his own, for him to stand down.” [>
Earlier ex-minister and Manchester MP Graham Stringer called for Mr Brown to stand down and face a leadership contest. [>
Former minister George Howarth again denied yesterday that he was organising a coup to install Jack Straw as prime minister. [>
But he came close to calling for Mr Brown to quit. [>
Mr Howarth said: “I am emphatically not compiling a list of MPs willing to send a letter to Gordon. Others may be doing so, but that is up to them. What I have said to some MPs and party members is that we are in a perilous situation. [>
“And as part of that process the PM’s role has to be up for discussion.” [>
Tony Lloyd, the powerful chairman of the Parliamentary Labour Party, admitted that the Government had to “sharpen up” yesterday. [>
But he warned that any leadership election would be a “diversion” from dealing with economic problems. [>
Adding to the sense of panic and defeatism inside Labour, former loyalist Michael Connarty warned that the “incompetent” abolition of the 10p rate of income tax had turned million of voters against Labour for good. [>
“We’ll never recover from that,” he said. [>
Meanwhile, fresh evidence of Labour’s pitiable standing in the polls emerged last night. [>
A Populus poll put Mr Brown on 27 per cent with David Cameron on 47 per cent. And just over half of voters believe that replacing Mr Brown would improve the party’s fortunes. [>
If such results were repeated at a general election they would give the Tories a 150-seat Commons majority. [>

...KNIFE IN BROWNS BACK...

Lets be honest, the only person that I can see capable of putting a '*****' in Gormless Brown, is Ms Teflon herself, Harriet Harman. Even moreso since becoming the Deputy Prime Minister. I bet she's in her element now that Gordys on his jollies. Slick clothes and sleek hairdo do not a country run. Et tu, Brute springs to mind along with 'veni, vidi, vici'.

LABOUR BACK STABBERS

It's not Brown that's the problem. It's the labour Party belief portfolio. Brown has stabbed us in the back anyway, many times, so let's hope that those who have worshipped him all these years make good job of it. It hurts the more when your own turn upon you.

KNIFE IN THE BACK

None of the cabinet will do anything to topple Brown until they have had assurances that their lardy backsides will be behind cushy desk jobs within the federal state of europe when they are removed from power in this country.
So in reality, unless someone with the strength of leadership to pull us back from Europe, and treat the other member countries as simple trading partners, we appear to be stuck with the disasterous new labour project.

KNIFE IN THE BACK

Changing GB for another useless Labour idiot wont make any difference in the end. Trouble is changing the government wont make any difference either, partly because nearly all the "rising stars" of all the parties are young graduates who studied politics at university and have probably never done a real job in their lives and are, again, probably incapable of doing so in the real world.

I CERTAINLY WOULDN'T VOTE FOR BROWN, BUT I'M LESS LIKELY TO VOTE FOR THE SO-CALLED 'DREAM TEAM' OF MILLIBAND THE BIN MAN AND ALAN JOHNSON.
THEY HAVE NO ONE AND, WHEN YOU COME TO THINK OF IT, NEITHER HAVE THE TORIES!
WHAT A STATE WE'RE IN!!

KNIFE BROWN IN THE BACK...

labours been stabbing the Brits in the back since day one, its nice to see them running around like chickens with there heads cut off(no offence to chickens all you pc'ers out there), i only hope that whoever wins the next election listens to its people and not the 'think tanks' with there nannying, but as all the parties are cut from the same cloth Britain could be jumping out of the frying pan into the fire again. labours destruction of Britain and its way of life the last ten years, can only be repaired with strong leadership, Cameron and Clegg are clones of Blair so the futures screwed before it starts.
