SPURS CALL FOR CURBS ON TAPPING

Daniel Levy

Sunday July 20,2008

By Tony Stenson

Spurs are so angry with Sir Alex Ferguson over United’s pursuit of star striker Dimitar Berbatov they are calling on the Premier League to stamp out “tapping up”.

Spurs chairman Daniel Levy yesterday made an official complaint and asked the Premier League to look into United’s behaviour over Berbatov and Liverpool openly targeting Robbie Keane.

A source at the club claimed the Berbatov affair was the straw that broke camel’s back.

Spurs have told the Premier League they believe it’s been almost a season-long pursuit of the player and want a special committee formed to keep track of any tapping.
