ARE THE PRINCES BREAKING INTO HOLLYWOOD?

Wednesday July 2,2008

KEEN polo players Princes William and Harry may find themselves starring in a major Hollywood film.

Of Kings And Cowboys, a romance movie currently in pre-production, centres on the glamorous world of the international polo circuit and an affair between a former bronco rider and a beautiful Argentinian polo player, with Oscar-nominated actor Ryan Gosling being tipped for the male lead.

David Marlett, who runs BlueRun Productions in Los Angeles and wrote the film, says it will be shot in Argentina, Dubai, France and at Guards Polo Club, Windsor.

“There’s a scene in the movie supposedly with the Royal Family at Guards Polo Club and we would love to have Princes William and Harry doing some cameos. That would really heighten the realism,” says Marlett, who plays polo in Texas.

In the past few days, Marlett has been in Santa Barbara, California, home to the likes of Oprah Winfrey, Brad Pitt and Rob Lowe, working on the film’s trailer, using players from the Santa Barbara Polo Club – a sister club to Guards – as extras.

Interestingly, the project is being shot with special cameras which will mean the finished movie can be shown on giant IMAX screens.

“That way we capture all the drama and danger of the game,” adds Marlett.

Over to you, William and Harry.
