HAS BROWN CHEATED US OVER THE EU TREATY?

Story Image

Has Brown broken his promise?

Tuesday June 10,2008

GORDON Brown was accused of "illegally and immorally" breaking his promise to hold an EU referendum yesterday.

His Government failed in "straight-dealing with the public" by ditching an election pledge to offer a vote over the EU Treaty.

The allegations were made as the High Court in London yesterday heard the first day of evidence in millionaire Tory donor Stuart Wheeler's action against the Government.

The hearing began a crucial week for the Prime Minister over his EU policy. Tomorrow the Lords will vote on a last-ditch Parliamentary attempt to revive the referendum over the EU Lisbon Reform Treaty.

So do you think Gordon Brown has cheated us over the Treaty? Should he have offered the public a vote?

RISE OF DICTATORSHIP

30.06.08, 4:57pm

The EU have commented that a small nation such as Ireland should not be allowed to dictate to millions of EU members. If the Irish had voted YES, would they have said the same? The EU claim that virtually all other countries have signed up for the Lisbon Treaty. The Goverments may have - like the British - but the PEOPLE have not. Should the UK peoples be given a referendum, the percentage of the population voting NO would be far higher than in Ireland. Those protesting to the EU in Brussels find that their protests are usualy not filmed and the main stream British media do not report. This because the media are backers of the 3 main parties, all which support our EU membership. Millions have fought and died throughout our history to keep Britain free. Now our govenment is handing our sovereignty and our very freedom to others, and we are not even allowed to have a say. A dictatorship is rising in Europe. The British peoples must have their voice heard before it is too late.

SORRY

29.06.08, 7:20pm

I hit the send twice, but PS I do not beleive it serves anyone and especially the brave public of Zimbabwe to compare Gordon Brown who is in fact just a front for the pathetic Labour Party, with the Evil, egomaniac responsible for the attrocities inflicted on his countrymen, women and children.
Mugabe should go away and die somewhere in a very dark corner and we should not hear his name mentioned again out of respect to the people that have died at his behest.

Gordon Brown should stand up and be counted.
If he represents Britain then he should represent the people, what did he say something about listening, well he must have heard us if he is listening .

BROWN EU CHEATY

29.06.08, 7:06pm

This issue will not go away and neither will, I fear our fragmented howling at the moon.
We need something with some clout a gathering together of the outraged public. This is merely letting of steam and serving nought.
I cut the following from a newspaper a while back:
Clause 10 of the EU constitution reads,"The constitution and law adopted by the Unions institutions(its that alright a mental institution)in exercising competencies conferred on it shall have primacy over the law of the member states".
The Government has no mandate or legitimate authority to agree to such a clause,or similar clause, without HOLDING A REFERENDUM.
The government acts beyond its powers for the following reasons.
The sovereignty of Britain is defined in the treaties know as the Magna Carta of 1215, the Declaration of Rights 1688, and the Bill of Rights 1689, and is protected by our constitution as enshrined in those documents, which clearly forbids the surrender of sovereignty to any foreign power.
We now need to distinguish what is British Law and not the quango derived brain dead policy inflicted on this Great Country by the European dictat.
It appears to have no authority over us, nor should it.
To the Tower with the Traitors.
