NO DECISION ON FUTURE - RONALDO

Sunday June 8,2008

Cristiano Ronaldo insists he has still not decided on where he would like to be playing his club football next season amidst speculation linking the Manchester United winger with a move to Spanish giants Real Madrid.

United are adamant the 23-year-old is not for sale, but speculation about his future persists and the player himself admitted after helping Portugal open their Euro 2008 campaign with a 2-0 win over Turkey that he did not know where he will be plying his trade next season.

"I still don't know where I will play, I have not decided yet. I will talk after the European Championships," he said in quotes reported by Spanish newspaper Marca

Ronaldo is adamant he is not letting the situation distract him from helping Portugal have a good tournament, though.

"I have convinced myself that I cannot worry about this, so I am calm," he added.

Ronaldo was handed the Portugal captaincy during the second half of their victory over Turkey in Geneva, taking over the armband from Nuno Gomes.

On that, Ronaldo said: "I've already been captain on a few occasions and, to tell the truth, the responsibility is always the same, but I am not going to lie and say that I don't like being captain of the national team."
