SHEER DISGRACE AS MPS ARE AWARDED MASSIVE RISE
At a time when the Government has called for public sector pay restraint, MPs are going to award themselves a £15,000 pay rise.
That’s 25 per cent. Twenty-five per cent! In return for this bonanza they will give up their long-standing power to set their own pensions and salary.
Those who inhabit the harsh world beyond the Westminster bubble will be disgusted by this deal. How can greedy politicians have the nerve to pocket even more of our money at a time when ordinary people are being squeezed by higher mortgages, higher energy bills and higher food prices?
The timing couldn’t be worse. It is an absolute insult to the public they are meant to serve and proof that for all
their fine words MPs are worryingly disconnected from reality.
What’s more, we also know that the basic salary is far from the whole story. The extent of MPs’ massive allowances for mortgages, home furnishings, food and travel has been laid bare in the past few months.
Relatives (quite legitimately) are employed as gofers and assistants of various kinds while MPs’ pensions are enviably generous. All this largesse is still under review which makes the proposed salary increase even more disgraceful.
At the weekend, the Prime Minister was talking contritely about “a sense of hurt” among voters. Well the hurt is even greater now, Mr Brown.

What else can you expect from a bunch of wasters who have no second thoughts for the welfare of Britain and the British, but allows unelected foreign bureaucrats to dictate our daily lives. Even unto our Taxation.
I have had meetings here in Norfolk, another one is scheduled for May the 21st., at which I hope to be in a position to call a Public Meeting for the very end of may at a convenient date for those concerned. I should hope to see the eight Norfolk MPs attending this second meeting. After all, eight MPs for a population of some 900,000, does seem rather overdoing it somewhat.
The subject of the meeting is to be the Flooding of Twenty Five Square Miles of Norfolk by abandoning the sea defences to allow the six villages and rather a large number of rural Homes to become submerged. English Nature seem to think it too expensive to protect the East Coast.
But only a few weeks back, it was announced that a Barrage was to be installed on the river Orwell at Ipswich, at some enormous cost. But then Ipswich always vote Labour. Can't let that sink can they??
Enough for now, Regards, ATFlynn.
