SHOULD TEACHERS BE BANNED FROM STRIKING?

Story Image

Teachers insisted they felt 'no guilt' over the strikes

Friday April 25,2008

By Gabriel Milland Political Correspondent

STRIKING teachers yesterday insisted they felt “no guilt” over forcing more than one million children to stay at home.

Parents were left scrambling to arrange childcare as 9,500 schools, a third of the total, were affected by the first national walkout over pay in 21 years.

It was estimated that around 2.5 million pupils in England and Wales were affected by having lesson times cut or the school day cancelled completely – at a time when students are preparing for GCSE exams next month.

The British Chambers of Commerce estimated firms would lose £68million as parents took time off to look after children.

Do YOU think teachers should be banned from striking? Should a child's education have to suffer?

UH OH...

"The BNP has withdrawn one of its London Assembly candidates after he reportedly wrote that it was a "myth" that rape was a serious crime. "

"Nicholas Eriksen was reportedly behind a blog which suggested women were more troubled by handbag theft than by rape. "

"The Evening Standard reported that Mr Eriksen was the author of a far-right blog on which he had written: "Rape is simply sex. Women enjoy sex, so rape cannot be such a terrible ordeal. "

"To suggest that rape, when conducted without violence, is a serious crime is like suggesting that force-feeding a woman chocolate cake is a heinous offence. "

"A woman would be more inconvenienced by having her handbag snatched." "

--sounds like a real peach! and the interesting thing is, that while he did withdraw form the election, his status as london organiser for the bnp is still intact!

---this, of course, comes on the back of BNP councillor Brian Turner who was found guilty of a racially aggravated public order offence. Turner has previous convictions of common assault and police assault after he was convicted of beating up his wife Melanie Turner.

--so, not looking good is it?

--of course, there is a long list of bnp party officials obtaining criminal convictions for assault, including recently David Enderby British National Party councillor for Winyates ward, Redditch. he was found guilty of three counts of assault.

--worried about terrorism? well, then look no further than London Nailbomber, David Copeland. a bnp member:

"It was probably while he was in the BNP that Copeland came across the Turner Diaries. The book, which is sold through BNP magazines, also provided Oklahoma bomber Timothy McVeigh with his ideas and method. When David Copeland was arrested he admitted that the book had influenced him. "

RACIST

28.04.08, 5:56pm

oh paul, i would never call you a racist for saying no to immigration.

but i would question your reasons why you say no to it. and those have been totally picked apart in our discussions of the past.

you have failed to come up with one logical or economic reason why there should be a total ban in immigration. and why? becauze it's an idiotic idea. as well as an unworkable one.

now, if you have been called a racist or a bigot in the past, then that is likely becasue you have made openly bigoted or racist statments.

being against immigration does not make one racist. it just makes one ignorant.

being against immigration because you simply do not like particular groups of people and do not want to be around them, makes you a bigot. if that is in combination with not liking the colour of their skin, then you are a racist.

so you see, you actually have a lot of choice in what you get labelled.
