Fiona MacKeown said she would have faith in the results from tests on the body of her daughter Scarlett Keeling.

Since the 15-year-old's half naked body was found on Anjuna Beach in Goa on February 19 Mrs MacKeown has battled the Indian authorities who first said the cause of death was accidental drowning.

She forced a second post mortem to be carried out which revealed Scarlett was attacked and had her head held under the water.

Mrs MacKeown said a third post mortem will be carried out by British police.

The 43-year-old said she wanted tests carried out in case forensic results in India were changed.

She said: "I hope the India police are prosecuted for lying from the beginning. The police system is so corrupt when the press pressure dies down they will start messing about with the forensic results."

At a news conference at her home at West Lodge Caravan Park near Meddon, North Devon, Mrs MacKeown also confirmed the case was to be handed over to the Indian Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

Following the second post mortem examination, detectives have said Scarlett was given Ecstasy, cocaine and LSD on the night she died. They have arrested two men, Samson D'Souza, 28, who is remanded in custody on suspicion of rape and Placido Carvalho, aged between 30 and 35, who has appeared in court on suspicion of drugging Scarlett and assisting in the murder by that act.
