Why have the people of this country lost their backbone,Year in year out we accept these bills that drop on our door mat and we say very little regarding the criminal way of extorting money from us with the threat of prison if we dont pay,The whole system stinks of botched up banding that was done from a motor vehicle cruising along in second gear, this represents the true way in which the whole country is govened, yes! in second gear.a secong gear government with a second gear prime minister.

COUNCIL TAX

Most of the rise goes to make up the expences of greedy councillors who are in it for themselves, they don't care two hoots about the electorate. You never see any improvement in local services, so where does the money go, in their pockets.

DONT FORGET YOUR COUNCIL TAX

I often think what would have happened if Gordon’s fortunes where different and his parents could not pay their council tax, would he be happy to see them in jail. I think what would make him angry is that druggies, burglars muggers, shop lifters can go free without a problem but a 70/90year old can be locked up what sort of society has been created here. shame, shame on this leader because deep down if his mother/father didn’t pay then he would I am sure say it was fare. So don’t forget you old folk switch off your heating, eat less don't get ill because your house is your NHS but you MUST PAY YOUR COUNCIL TAX.

COUNCIL TAX

If a person works hard and earns a good living, it is obvious that they will get a mortgage and purchase a house commensurate to those earnings.
They will have also have paid income tax relevant to those earnings, and interest on the mortgage over a number of years.
So why should they be penalised for doing things right ?
As council tax is to pay for Civic amenities, and we all get the same, the refuge removed once a week, if we are lucky. Can someone please let me know what the value of property has top do with it?
They even allow the private water companies to charge according to the banding of your property.
In Britain, it seems that hard working people who better themselves are constantly penalised. I feel that to work in this country, in order to be able to support ones self, and not be a burden on society, is frowned upon.
I was brought up to believe that if you work hard, you reap the benefit. Not in Britain, work hard and some one else reaps the benefit.
The system of paying local tax, council tax, poll tax, or whatever you want to call it, is antiquated, and needs to be reviewed.
The system needs to stop penalising decent hard working people who take nothing from the state, but are constantly required to pay more to it.
