BURRELL 'MADE INQUEST RED HERRINGS'
Former royal butler Paul Burrell 'made inquest red herrings'
Former royal butler Paul Burrell has reportedly admitted he did not tell the whole truth at the inquest into the death of Diana, Princess of Wales.
In a video recording, Mr Burrell apparently said he held back certain facts and introduced "red herrings" during his evidence at the High Court last month.
According to The Sun, Mr Burrell said on the video: "I told the truth as far as I could - but I didn't tell the whole truth. Perjury is not a nice thing to have to contemplate. I was very naughty and I made a couple of red herrings, and I couldn't help doing it."
In the tape, which the paper said was recorded in New York, Mr Burrell said he was not willing to reveal the entire details of his conversation with the Queen after Diana's death in a Paris car crash in 1997.
He had previously claimed the Queen warned him about "dark forces" at work.
"The conversation with the Queen was three hours long," Mr Burrell reportedly said on the video.
"And I wasn't about to sit there and divulge everything she said to me."
In scenes shot in a hotel room while Mr Burrell drank champagne, he also claimed he felt Diana's spirit guiding him and that withholding secrets was her wish.
The former servant-turned-reality TV star added that after having two books published, he will not write anything else about Diana.
The Sun reported that Mr Burrell could be investigated on suspicion of perjury as a result of his claims. A Metropolitan police spokesman said that the case had not been referred to police "as yet".
NO DOUBT

he will now feel justified having been duped and treated so 'horridly' by the Sun, into writing yet another of his books to help promote his dinner service.
Might as well try him for perjury now - I'll happily chuck in a few pounds of my tax towards the costs of it.

SELF CONFESSED LIAR
18.02.08, 1:52pm
This character is beyond contempt.
His prissy attitude is one of self promotion.
He masquerades as a devoted servant of the late princess whilst effectively dancing on her grave, licking his lips with joy as the attention turns to him.
You are unimportant,an affront to masculine behavior and should bury your head in shame at the crass exploitation of a dead person.
Confessing to lying about matters as serious as our justice system should make you even more of a pariah and hopefully get you some attention from our police force.
