CABINET minister Ed Balls faces a grilling by senior MPs next week over his plans to pump millions of taxpayers’ cash into 100 Muslim schools.

The Commons Education Committee will investigate the Government’s proposed expansion of faith schools.

Some members are concerned that extending state funding to dozens of Muslim schools will further damage community cohesion and may breed social separation.

Mr Balls, the Children and Schools Secretary, is expected to come under intense questioning.

Labour MP Barry Sheerman, the committee chairman, said: “I am getting reports from people in local government who find it difficult to know what is going on in some faith schools, particularly Muslim schools.

“There is real concern in local government about its ability to find out how well an important part of our community is being served by its education provision.

“Will we find out that young people in certain kinds of faith school, and particularly young women, are not getting the provision or education that they deserve?”

He added: “Faith schools are an important area of concern. This is something the Government should look at in a focused way, rather than drifting into the proliferation of faith education.”

Some left-wing Labour backbenchers also oppose plans to expand the number of Christian schools.

Parents welcome their good academic results, discipline and ethos but many Labour MPs want religion banned from classrooms.

Today it has been reported that Council Tax will be going up again (tell us what isn't)
We are being taxed for every last drop, when some buffoon comes up with another idea to spend money we apparently do not have,well not for the indigenous people as usual,if money is so badly needed for tthe people of this country why is so much being sent overseas to these bottomless pots,no ,we do not fund Muslim schools. Money is short and there are too many priority claims on it, so let that be the last of this ill conceived decision it will not have the support of the people,remember them ? they elected you to protect their interests not abuse them

They did this back in my junior school days a few decades ago.

We had the best Primary school facilities in the area; swimming pool, community centre, sports equipment... and just about the lowest academic record.

And our school was the only one in the area with a rough ratio of 50:50 Asian-Muslim to Whites.

When are our brain dead leaders actually going to remove their blinkers and wake up to the fact that islam is not a peacefull religion.
It is a political system whose aim is to destroy western society and replace it with their death cult. This is akin to us setting up nazi training camps in the 1930's.

This is the problem. Muslims want to keep living in a medieval society,where women don't need to work,just produce children.Which does not require any education.

I have read that these schools,far from educating muslims in integration and anti terrorism,are actually training grounds for future al-queda sympathisers.

With our politically correct government wary of offending muslims,I doubt we will ever find out what is happening in these schools.

"UNDERCOVER MOSQUE"

For those who didn't see this astonishing programme, it's on again tonight on More4 at 10.00pm.

This is the imfamous programme that exposed what really goes on in many "moderate" mosques. It really does have to be seen to be believed.

It is imperitive that we stop appeasing this inherantly violent and imperialistic religion NOW.
