Carlo says Reds won't handle the pressure

Saturday November 7,2009

By Tony Banks

CARLO Ancelotti has vowed to turn the heat on Manchester United by destroying them in midfield.

Chelsea manager Ancelotti, sees the battle there tomorrow as the key to winning the first title showdown of the season. He said: “United can suffer when there is real pressure on their midfield and every team has a weakness."

On the day when Chelsea’s worldwide transfer ban was suspended, enabling them to spend big in January to reinforce their squad, Ancelotti said he might not even need to splash out.

But ahead of the clash with United, and even though Darren Fletcher is back to strengthen their centre, Ancelotti firmly believes his team can dominate the crucial battleground. He said: “Liverpool played a fantastic match against United – and put a lot of pressure on them.

“They didn’t give United any chance to play like they want to.”

The Court of Arbitration for Sport suspended Chelsea’s ban for this coming window yesterday, pending their appeal against a FIFA ban. That could see a move for Atletico Madrid’s Argentina striker Sergio Aguero.
