CAMERON: I’D SACK OSBORNE

Story Image

Tory Leader David Cameron

Saturday November 7,2009

By Macer Hall

DAVID Cameron yesterday said he would not hesitate to sack George Osborne if the Shadow Chancellor proved not to be up to the job of rebuilding Britain’s finances.

The Tory leader signalled his determination to act ruthlessly even with close political allies if he felt it was in the country’s interests.

And he admitted Mr Osborne had a “very tough time” during the past year as a result of the scandal over his links with a Russian tycoon.

Mr Cameron’s readiness to single out his friend Mr Osborne in discussing Shadow Cabinet members who could be sacked was being viewed last night as a signal that the Tory leader does not want to be hamstrung by personal deals such as the ultimately doomed pact between Tony Blair and Gordon Brown.

Asked in an interview whether he would ever sack Mr Osborne or other senior figures, Mr Cameron said: “Absolutely. I’ve done so before with other colleagues and I will do so again. You must not dodge it, you must not duck it.”

Mr Cameron also spoke in detail for the first time about his Christian beliefs. “If you are asking, do I drop to my knees and pray for guidance, no. But do I have faith and is it important, yes,” he said.

And he revealed his biggest fear was losing another child following the death earlier this year of his six-year-old son Ivan, who had cerebral palsy.

CAMERON SACK OSBOURNE

07.11.09, 2:04pm

a lot of people on here seem to think ther is still a lisbon treaty there is not one since everthing has been ratified into law, so you cannot have a referendom on what does not exist. we are now under the full control of the European Government. Mr Cameron is not yet in power and may not be so has no powers to do anything. look to the leadership of UKIP or the BNP for your answers as one of them will be the next UK political representaives. as there is no longer any real UK parliaments in scotland england wales or northern ireland all have now been sold out

Sorry TrevorD it was past my bedtime and I had been commenting on the Sell off to Euroland of the Royal Mail earlier ... or should that be Royal Male !!! Very funny though !

If the Conservatives had picked David Davis they might have been in a position to form the next government.

Anyway, I wonder what Cameron will do to help Isreal in its next war with Iran... I can't see him having much peace at home until he sends in the British Army into another war that is none of our business..

SACKINGS ETC.

07.11.09, 11:41am

Cameron is no better than Labour with his U-turn on a referendum of the Lisbon Treaty. If the EU can persist with referenda on NO votes until they achieve their aims, then the British people should have their say on this matter. There is no legislation that cannot be overturned.
So far as his threats with Osborne, can we be sure there will be no more U-turns?
He has done the Conservative Party a dis-service with the Lisbon Treaty and swayed more people to the UKIP or BNP parties.

NOT TO BE UP TO THE JOB

Dave C is not up to the job and he should sack himself because he refuses to give us a democratic referendum on the EU.

<<Mr Cameron also spoke in detail for the first time about his Christian beliefs. “If you are asking, do I drop to my knees and pray for guidance, no. But do I have faith and is it important, yes,” he said. >>

Strange- because he is married to the wealthiest Jewish families in the Kingdom. I wonder how his wife feels about this ?
Surely his children have inherited the jewish faith from the femail line- which is normal...

Cameron can trace his family tree back to Moses.. I'm afraid that I have no faith in Cameron. He seems to want to be all things to all people.
