Wednesday November 4,2009

By Daily Express reporter

A TREASURE trove of Iron Age jewellery discovered by a first-time metal detector enthusiast will be unveiled at the National Museum of Scotland today .

Four gold Iron Age neck ornaments, or torcs, dating from between the 1st and 3rd centuries BC will be revealed by the Treasure Trove Unit at the Edinburgh museum.

The torcs were found in Stirlingshire in September and represent the most important Iron Age gold hoard found in Scotland.

As treasure trove they belong to the Crown, but the finder, who has not been named, will get a reward equal to their value.
