MORE than a third of Britons say they have lost their patriotic pride in our nation, a poll reveals today.

Traditional qualities of tolerance, humour and politeness are perceived having been replaced by drunkeness, loud mouthed rudeness and laziness.

Three quarters of us think the UK has lost it reputation for good manners and 57 per cent say neighbourliness and community spirit are also disappearing.

In France a minister has been given the task of finding out and defining what values make France France. Are we going to let Britain go that far too? Surely there are some politicians we can rely on to defend some of the values that have always made Britain a generous nation, where pride in the land, and values of freedom, tolerance and fair play used to be paramount.....with some hope schools will continue to defend these moral values and the police will be given the ability to defend these on the streets of Britain. Everything seems to have slid, and things are are now back to front, the aggressor comes before the victim, the child dominates the adult. Some sort of discipline will have to be adopted to regulate the balance once again. What is wrong with discipline? It has nothing to do with cruelty, true discipline is a responsible and fair way of educating; children who go without are deprived.

VALUES NEVER VANISH!

The vast majority of the British public still have the same core values, alas they are slowly being eroded by politicians who have an agenda based solely on money and power. Our right of "free speech" is mainly a sham where we are free to say what we want as long as it fits with what politicians, and other interested parties, want us to.
We do care about others but we also have opinions about their behaviour etc. one comes with the other. But our free speech does not allow us to voice those opinions. People have no shame about a criminal record because their community are not aloud to voice disapproval. The thought of "what people might say" has stopped many people in the past from doing wrong but now people cannot say! Peer group pressure did more good than harm but certainly does not fit in with todays PC rules.
We all still have these values it's just that we are continually told it is wrong to speak about them and it is certainly more difficult to adhere to them in the face of an increasingly aggressive
officialdom.

all have been eroded by the mainstream parties in their pursuit of a multi-cultural utopia,

sadly though the end result is not that nice is it?

it makes me laugh how all other cultures, faiths and religions can be promoted, yet anyone displaying patriotic tendencies is branded a bigot or worse,

why does the establishment hate everything british, why are they seeking to destroy our island nation, its culture, its customs and its peoples identity?

We "British" shouting about keeping our values should start practicing those values so making the statement to the world that we want to keep them. Keep Christianity? --- How full is your local church? This country is has lost control of its values, pregnant kids, drunken kids, foul mouthed kids, unruley kids, destructive kids, football louts advertised on TV world news, drunken holiday makers, (the list is endless) most with "couldn't care less attitudes. This is why Britain will change because the British will not show the world we are capable of adhereing to our own values so we are an easy target for others to impose their values on.

..we should make sure we hang on to our institutions like Cadburys and not let Kraft ruin it.

I am doing it for a laugh and to raise awareness amongst those who don't pay attention to the business news or don't realise the implications.

There is no financial gain or notoriety involved though we'll have to see if it gets big enough to attract the attention of the Kraft lawyers:) Hope so!!

I am a Brit living in NJ who cares about the UK and cares about jobs there and who has worked for Cadbury as a consultant in the past and don't want to see a British institution fall into US hands.

We shall overcome!

Do not even think about doing away with our religouse celebrations, and what is wrong with calling it christmas,its always been that for us British people,and if some who adopt our country dont like it then go back to where you came from and live with your own rules.
We dont take offence at other religouse names,holidays etc,what about banning Ramodam for instance,what would the muslims think about that.
For gods sake,what is the matter with some people,havent they got anything better to do,hope they dont get payed for this rubbish.
I think if you asked you would find that other cultures living in Britain do not mind,and knew that Britain was different to their country,that we had different religions,that we celebrated Christmas and Easter when they came to live in the country. We dont change our way of life to suit anyone,if they come here they have to be the ones to change and accept our culture,thats what people do who emigrate, If you dont accept that,then you dont come.
