Lord Turner's call for higher taxes on new cars and fuel would hit all sections of the car industry

MOTORISTS would be forced to find an extra £3,300 for a new car and cope with fuel duty tripling under new Government-backed proposals for a green tax blitz.

Public spending campaigners and motorists’ organisations today reacted with anger to proposals for £150billion of new “eco-taxes” on businesses and households.

The cross-party Green Fiscal Commission, due to announce its plans later today, wants a drastic reshaping of the tax system to curb greenhouse gas emissions and encourage investment in greener technology.

Among the ideas, to be outlined by Lord Turner, chairman of the Financial Services Authority, are a tripling of fuel duty over the next decade, a household energy tax and a massive levy added to the price of every new car.

Why should ordinary people have to pay? Its industry that pollutes our planet. Make the profiteers pay not ordinary people. And what about war? guns, missiles rockets, jets, explosions? oh lets not mention that. Our precious homeland security comes before everything else. Cannot, must not, will not, take responsibility for anything Mr Brown. Go on, tax us all again we can take it.

The brave new world envisaged by Copenhagen emerged last week. Stern of Brentford, the PM’s Doomster Economics tsar, demanded universal vegetarianism. All cows, sheep and pigs are to be slaughtered, wool and leather banned, and the countryside returned to bracken and scrub. Two Doomster scientists from New Zealand have concluded that a dog produces more emissions than a Toyota Land Cruiser so family pets are clearly next on the list for extermination. Confirming that Global Warming has finally been accepted as a religious belief, its co-religionists met at Lambeth Palace where all the UK’s “faith groups” issued a joint demand that world governments ban fossil fuels. Finally, European leaders led by Britain - flush with money after Brown’s golden age - met in solemn conclave to offer a bribe of 100 billion Euros to China and India in return for a “promise” to curb their carbon emissions.
All that is missing is genuine scientific debate as to whether we actually have a problem.

PLANET TAX

Global warming is a myth that politicians all over the world are promoting. It is utter rubbish based on false facts from scientist who have their noses in the trough of big corporations worldwide. Yes, we all need to cut down on rubbish and white goods that we all happily throw away after five years but this is not the cause of global warming. Becoming a veggie is not another reason for keeping the warmth at bay. These stupid politicians would have us believe that being alive is the cause of global warming - hot air from them no doubt. The world is going through a cycle, one that it has probably been through eons ago as well so why don't they all just shut up and do something about the way they steal and rob from the citizens who pay their salaries. The energy that they all put into flying to conferences makes a mockery of their beliefs. If they want a conference use a computer. So people, just enjoy your life and stop worrying about global warming, freezing or just existing. Enjoy.
