IS THIS THE END FOR ROYAL MAIL?

ROYAL FAIL: The end?

Thursday October 22,2009

The country is facing months of postal chaos - today's national strike by Royal Mail staff is likely to be just the start of planned action.

The disastrous walkout started in the early hours as the first of an expected 120,000 workers began a two-day walkout.

As it began union leaders revealed they were planning more action, plunging the postal service into further chaos likely to last throughout the peak Christmas season.

The next strikes could be as early as next week.

Last-ditch talks between Communication Workers' Union officials and Royal Mail management collapsed last night amidst furious accusations from both sides.

SO DO YOU THINK THIS SPELLS THE END FOR ROYAL MAIL?

WOULD YOU TRUST THEM WITH YOUR POST?

ARE YOU STARTING TO SEND EMAILS INSTEAD OF LETTERS?

SHOULD THE POSTAL WORKERS BE STRIKING AT ALL?

THE FINAL BATTLE

30.10.09, 6:13pm

The unions are hell bent on destroying the Post Office unless they get their way, this should be enough to persuade the public what type of people Crozier is dealing with, the Union's are cutting their nose off to spite their face: madness.

The Union's have been holding back modernisation and efficiency in the Post Office for years, resulting in no profits, low wages and poor working conditions, they remind me of British Leyland in the 70's, the Union's destroyed that industry to. The Post Office needs to change how it works or become bankrupt and cease to exist, the government can't afford to prop them up any longer.

I'm no fan of management but the Union's have reached a dead end, time to get tough. The Post Office will survive but it will be leaner and fitter and probably be able to pay its remaining work force a decent wage.

JOE BRAND

27.10.09, 10:47pm

Was the accusation made out of jealousy? We won't ever know but one thing is, I turn over when that vile Jo Brand and the other idiot come on telly now that they have ruined the career of one of their colleagues. You just don't do that in showbusiness! For heaven's sake, the comment wasn't even made in front of the cameras or recorded on sound: it was idle banter in the green room.

But thats how politically correct numpties work.
Just as we have our own politically correct fool in this forum who throws out accusations of "racism" etc at the slightest opportunity.

As for Jo Brand - If i described what i think of her Id be accused of a dam site more than just racism. But can you actually insult something that isnt even a member of the human race?

JO BRAND: THAT TERRIBLE WOMAN!

27.10.09, 11:14am

She and that eejit that does The One Show made an official complaint against Carol Thatcher when she referred to a frizzy haired man as "looking like a gollywog"

What harm did Carol Thatcher do? Jo Brand comes on stage effing and blinding, refferring to sexual organs and such (actually, I find her jokes very funny) but cries "racist" when an attractive well proportioned woman with high intelligence and even more intelligent parents of whom has had an extremely good upbringing, is the victim of her venomous slur.

JO BRAND - A GENETIC EXPERIMENT THAT WENT TERRIBLY WRONG.

26.10.09, 9:10am

Jo Brand: 'you can't be racist towards white people'

Jo Brand: My personal opinion is that you can’t be racist towards white people. You can be prejudiced about them but being prejudiced isn’t an illegal act whereas being racist can be.

So, I can say what I like about revolting fat ugly and unfunny so called commedians, and as long as the stupid cow Im talking about is white, thats alright then ?

Jo Brand reminds me of a genetic experiment that went terribly wrong. Like some ugly slug that leaves a trail of politically correct slime behind it.

Of course, I should be protected with the full weight of the law, after all I belong to a minority group.

It seems that white middle class hetrosexual married males who work, care for their families, are the rarest minority group in the UK ..... or is it just that we dont count in Loony Labours politically correct nightmare?

YouGov verdict on BNP’s Question Time
Posted on October 23rd, 2009 by Anthony Wells

YouGov have a poll in tomorrow’s Telegraph, the first since Nick Griffin’s appearance on Question Time. It was carried out late yesterday and all day today. There isn’t actually very much detail in the Telegraph’s report, but there’s more at ConservativeHome.

The topline voting intentions, with changes from the poll last weekend, are CON 40%(-1), LAB 27%(-3), LDEM 19%(+2), BNP 3%(+1). So while the BNP support is up, it is nothing significant. 2-3% has been pretty much the norm for their support over the last couple of months, and the most recent YouGov/Telegraph poll at the end of September also had them at 3%. For the other parties, Labour are down from the 30% to 27%, more in line with the ICM and Ipsos MORI figures in the week. YouGov still have the Conservatives down at 40% in comparison to 44% and 43% from ICM and MORI.

Anyway, the poll will really be looked at for evidence of how the BNP’s Question Time appearance has gone down, rather than the main parties. As well as voting intention, YouGov asked whether people had positive or negative opinions of the smaller parties – questions that it last asked in June straight after the European elections. Back then 11% of people had a positive impression of the BNP and 72% a negative impression, today’s figures are 9% positive and 71% negative, so no sign of any improvement in people’s opinion of the BNP either. Despite all the hoohah and protests, despite the millions of people who watched Question Time, it doesn’t seem to have made any significant difference to how the public view them, or how likely they are to support them (or at least, not yet).

Asked how likely people would be to vote BNP in a future local, general or European election. 66% said there were no circumstances at all, 15% said it was “possible”, which I suspect is more of a “never say never answer”. More significant are the 7% who would definitely or probably consider voting BNP at some point in the future.

What has changed was attitudes to the BBC’s decision to invite Griffin onto Question Time. At the weekend 63% thought it was right, 23% wrong. Now the balance of opinion has shifted further in favour of the BBC’s decision, 74% thinking it was right, and only 11% wrong
