CASTLEFORD return to the Super League play-offs tonight aiming to repeat their famous victory over Wigan 10 years ago.

The Tigers made history as Wigan’s first opponents at the brand new JJB Stadium in 1999 and stunned the home side with a shock 14-10 victory in an elimination play-off.

“It would be nice to be able to got plenty of reason to go there with confidence,” added Matterson.

After collecting the wooden spoon 12 months ago, the Tigers bounced back to finish seventh and Wigan coach Brian Noble is an admirer.

He said: “They’re a good offensive team. They like to play football.

“We are going to have to be honest defensively.”
