WORKINGTON youngster Richard Lawson is out for the rest of the season after being booked for a shoulder operation later this month.

Lawson is the third Comets rider to be on the sidelines, but they still comfortably overcame Berwick in Friday's Premier League match at Derwent Park.

Manager Ian Thomas said: "I think Richard can look back on a very successful first season at this level. He's done exceptionally well."
