JACKSON: Drug allegations

Saturday July 4,2009

By Darren McCaffrey

MICHAEL Jackson was a drug-dependent insomniac who travelled with a “mini clinic” of drugs to help him sleep, it was claimed yesterday.

During his HIStory world tour 12 years ago, Jackson took with him a collection of medical paraphernalia normally only seen in a hospital, according to reports in US newspapers.

He also took anaesthetist Dr Neil Ratner, who was convicted of insurance fraud in 2001, on the tour.

The anaesthetic Diprivan was found in the singer’s home after his death, a police source said last night. The drug is usually given intravenously before surgery.
