STAYING: John Terry

Friday July 3,2009

By Mauro Galluzzo for express.co.uk

CHELSEA have rejected a second audacious bid from Manchester City for their captain John Terry.

The 28-year-old, who was linked with a shock move to the City of Manchester Stadium a year ago, has been targeted again.

But the Blues have rebuffed the offer stating Terry is not for sale at any cost.

A club statement read: “We can confirm we have completely rejected an offer from Manchester City for John Terry.

“It was made clear to City, for a second time following an approach last season, that we would not entertain any conversation on the subject.

“At the time John also reiterated his total commitment to Chelsea.

“We would like to make it clear, and will not do so again, that John is not for sale.”

The news is the latest setback for City, who have already failed in their attempt to lure Barcelona striker Samuel Eto’o.
