JEMIMA'S IN A RIGHT CAT FLAP

Wednesday June 20,2007

JEMIMA Khan has been lambasted for wasting police time to search for her missing cat.

Police were called in early yesterday after the Bengal pedigree – worth around £1,000 – vanished from the heiress’s home in West London. She feared it had been stolen.

Last night former Flying Squad Commander John O’Connor said: “It is a complete misuse of police resources. Police have better things to do than to pander to the whims of rich celebrities.”

A Scotland Yard spokesman said: “Police were called to a Chelsea address regarding the disappearance of a cat.

There is no suggestion that the disappearance is suspicious.”

Would the police have turned up if Jemima was a single mum on a council estate, we wonder?
