FSA: Crackdown

Saturday November 7,2009

By Daily Express reporter

SEVEN businesses were yesterday targeted by the City watchdog in a crackdown against an alleged “boiler room” share trading scam.

The Financial Services Authority said its investigation focused on two individuals suspected of profiting from alleged overseas boiler rooms, so called because of the extreme high-pressure sales techniques they use.

Aided by the City of London Police, the FSA executed search warrants on premises in London and Southend and served injunctions freezing assets up to £350,000.
