A popular pub game in the 1980s, this pocket sized edition still carries plenty of zap.

Rows of aliens are slowly approaching in a serious arcade update. Your mission is to destroy them with your laser cannon before they land.

That's the essence of Space Invaders - a time-tested formula which contains the original elements in an electrifying revamp.

The levels zip by quickly, and most players will be content to rest a thumb on the fire button and blast away. If you want to rack up high scores, keep one strategy in mind: Try to hit aliens of the same colour consecutively.

You'll be blessed with more powerful weapons or shields.

Move a roving cannon along the bottom of the screen and fire up at waves of space invaders that descend faster and faster as the game wears on.

You always die in the end of course, the fun is seeing how long you can stay alive.

The DS and PSP versions have identical game play and similar graphics, and offer multiplayer for two players in the same room.
