TOP BID: Simon

Saturday November 7,2009

THOSE who have always wanted to get inside the minds of some of the biggest names in showbusiness finally got their chance.

A host of stars including The X Factor pop mogul Simon Cowell, 50, Topshop tycoon Sir Philip Green and author Sir Salman Rushdie agreed to have their grey matter auctioned off in aid of the Krug Mind Share charity event. Audience members could bid for an hour with a star, with all proceeds going to a charity of their choice.

Competition at the event, held at Christie’s, was fierce but Simon attracted the top bid of £19,000.

Meanwhile Sir Philip, 57, was keen to get his hands on some insider football tips, paying £11,000 for the mind of Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger.

The stars’ minds raised a whopping £78,500 in total.
