JUNO proved that cult screenwriter Diablo Cody has a wicked way with a memorable line.

Her salty dialogue is the saving grace of Jennifer’s Body, a gleeful, old-fashioned mix of gore and giggles that feels awfully pleased with itself.

Jennifer (Megan Fox) is the kind of high school cheerleader who has all the boys drooling. A close encounter with a visiting indie band leaves her craving flesh.

Her best friend Needy (Amanda Seyfried) wakes up to the fact that Jennifer is now the embodiment of evil and every boy on campus is a potential victim.

Funny in places but the scares are tame and the tone is very uneven.

VERDICT 3/5
