IF YOU fancy a change from the traditional festive fare of It’s A Wonderful Life and White Christmas then this neglected British drama makes a very acceptable yuletide alternative.

Ralph Richardson, Celia Johnson and Margaret Leighton are the old reliables in an adaptation of a Wynyard Browne play in which a Norfolk vicar learns some home truths when his family returns for the holidays.

Dated but touching.
