NEITHER SHOULD ANY OTHER UTILITY!
31.07.08, 11:29am
I would take it a stage further, ALL Utilities should be kept not only in UK hands but state controlled. It all started back with the Wilson government when they stupidly auctioned off the North Sea oil & gas fields at ridiculous low prices. Norway maintained control of it's oil fields and reaped the benefit for the country, not as the UK who took the easy option which instead just wanted to be tax collectors.
Use the BoE as an example, would we dream for one minute of selling of the BoE to be run by a contractor or foreign company? So, why do we allow our utilities be run the same way?

WHO' GOING TO RUN IT? CAPTAIN MANNERING.
31.07.08, 12:52am
works both ways though. ask the yanks what they think of B.P. Ask the Russians. Ask the Nigerians what they think of Shell. Why are the Saudis spending billions buying our armaments? they could make their own.
More importantly, ask why the Brits shop at Primark, Asda, Lidl, ask why we have contracts with companies that are not British and then look at British Gas, 35% increase today. Why do we buy foreign cars, fridges, ipods? chelsea football kits made in China?
How many of you lot voted for Thatcher? well wake up, look in the mirror and stop having the audacity to call today's youth THICK.

AND WESTMINSTER WAS ELECTED TO GOVERN THIS COUNTRY
30.07.08, 12:45pm
I should imagine most of you know my opinion by now.
In 2005, I placed an advertisement in a Sunday News Paper regarding the advisability of Legally Avoiding Direct Taxation. That advert' stayed there for three weeks.Let me explain in very simple words; legally, you do not have to pay Taxation to Central Government. It can be avoided
There is no reason why you could not build your own system of Public Service funding based on the Parish, Town and County Council system of Local Government.
The one thing that is being planned just now, and will cause havoc if Westminster succeed, is the appointed Regional NGO's. These un-elected Committees will have the over-riding power of the Westminster Government to dictate policy and action across the Country.
The only answer is for the Taxpayer, both Employer and Employee, to change the way they agree to work and be paid. Then we can put together a system to by-p**** London and Westminster including Whitehall, we can build our own system of Taxation that will cost no more than 20% in the £Pound, after a Tax Free Threshold of £500 a week, £24,000 a year, before Taxation even starts. And as long as we keep it all very simple, avoiding 99% of the Welfare State, it will only cost Pennies compared to today.
Enough for now. Regards, ATFlynn

THE TRAITORS IN THE LABOUR PARTY STRIKE AGAIN!
30.07.08, 2:46am
This is the second comment I have submitted today in which I am calling Gordon Brown and his government "Traitors!" So I wanted to make sure I understood the Oxford Dictionary definition and that I am using it correctly.
OD definition: "traitor n. a person guilty of betrayal, one who acts disloyally (to country or cause etc.);"
Signing away Britain's Sovereignty to the EU without the approval of the people is about as traitorous an act I can imagine, but then to advocate selling the fundamental Electrical Power infrastructure of Britain to the French as a follow up to disbanding the Royal Dockyards and contracting their tasks to a subsiduary of Halliburton is beyond traitorous!
What else has this team of Labour traitors done in secret that will eventually be known and be seen as a complete abandonment of their Oaths of Office?
Maybe the House of Lords, with its last dying gasp of breath under Labour can set up a Royal Commission investigating just exactly what this traitorous Labour Government has done - then maybe also the Conservative Government which replaces these traitors can get a "heads up" look at what is in front of them as they prepare to restore Britain to being a sovereign nation once again!

OUR NUCLEAR FUTURE SHOULD NOT BE OPEN TO FOREIGN CONTROL
29.07.08, 10:03am
Emphatically no it should not. Since this gverment took office our banks now belong to Spain our energy belongs to France a lot of our land is owned by foreigners. Where is it going to stop.

OH, I DON'T KNOW....
29.07.08, 8:11am
......If France can control our energy, then we can control theirs.... Right? I don't think so, This is all part of the big carve up within the EEC. It seems that European businesses can trade within England, but I have yet to see a Sainsburys, Tescos or Marks and Sparks over here in Germany, in fact I have yet to see any British produce on the shelves of the German Supermarkets., so where is this overseas business that the Government is talking about?

NO. BORIS JOHNSON SHOULD CONTROL IT.
29.07.08, 2:14am
did thatcher not believe in the perfection of the markets? is this not what we are seeing now? why not demand that b.p. immediately leaves Russia, Nigeria, U.S.A..... is this not what we have done for hundreds of years. in fact, why not buy shares in EDF? there's probably more english shareholders than french.
Have you just done your GSE'S? sounds like it. cushy job hey?
