How did a local council manage to send someone out of the office with it only costing £1700?

Usually it cost £50k just to get them to drive down your street... £1700 for looking in some bins sounds like a bargain.

Maybe there were additional charges they haven't added yet... the £200,000 fee for typing up the results for example...?

I would NOT trust NuLabour OR ANY COUNCIL to collate any data on myself.

THEY ARE NOT TO BE TRUSTED.

Today we learn that a 17 year old hacker in the USA has infiltrated the Bedfordshire Constabulary website.

Government departments are losing laptops containing sensitive data on UK citizens every day of the week.

Can you imagine the Council Gestapo Enforcement Muppet logging all your refuse on a huge database - to be cross-referenced, naturally, with HM Revenue and your bank account!!

Are we being ruled by imbeciles?

Put the lot of them into the nearest wheelie bin and shut the lid tight (or you will be fined for leaving the lid open 4")!!

And yet the government were elected 11 years ago to reduce child poverty and increase educational standards and clamp down on crime.
They have failed on all counts.
They import people as though they are going out of fashion. Apparently to increase wealth and enrich us.
They have failed miserably on this policy.
The rich have grown richer and some of the poorer members of society may have to face third world conditions if food continues to rise.
The petrol crisis will enhance the rising costs and prices.
The jobless total is rising and it is madness to allow more immigrants in to the country until the economy has stabilised.
Well at least all this will stop us wasting food.
The "Make do and mend" society will return.
Except for footballers, celebrities, and MPs !!!

2.5MILLION PENSIONERS LIVING IN POVERTY IN THE UK.

4MILLION PEOPLE LIVING IN "DAMP/COLD" HOMES IN THE UK.

Yes, the above figures are worthy of repeating.

WHAT A WASTE OF YOUR MONEY.

You know, I read somewhere in a report that all this money being spent on recycling programs - the money for extra bins of different colours, extra staff on councils to supervise the program, extra Managers and legal services on Council staff (often at well over £84,000/year), extra policy makers and checkers, extra office space at councils - all this money that belongs to the people who pay taxes is an absolute waste of time. Why? Because, despite all this money and snooping, do you realize that only 20% of your rubbish that you classify for recycling is ever recycled - the rest is just buried into the local landfill. So, you are all paying for all that extra stuff, and doing the work - unpaid - of sorting rubbish from your home, and the stuff, after all that is buried in a local landfill. What a waste of time and money. Typical of Government waste at all levels in England. Time to wake up, people.

Are they going to fine us for not eating all our dinners or throwing away that sad looking lettuce ?
I hate waste as much as anyone but sometimes it is inevitable.
The food industry should take a look at its wastage. Supermarkets throw away container loads every day. The catering industry throws away masses of waste food.
This government seems to be at a loss when it comes to problem solving. In truth it is way past its sell by date !
