Location:Sunderland (Newcastle), GB Common Sense at Last

This statement and the recent one regarding housing is the most common sense I have heard from any government in a long, long time. I know that we British are not known for speaking the language of others but I feel that this is due more to lack of schooling opportunity than disinclination - if children were taught early enough then the nation as a whole would benefit. As for dress - well if you look at any British person living abroad permanently then I'm sure you would see that they have adapted, and as for the Muslim dress - well if we were there then I can assure you that in public we would not have a choice, we would be made to wear it! A relative who has lived and worked in such a country informed me that they had to respect their religious holidays (even fast days), it was frowned upon for their child to celebrate their birthday because it coincided with a regligious holiday of the country, shall I go on? It makes me angry that none of this behaviour happens here, yet we are labelled as unwelcoming and racist. As for the money it costs this country a fortune in health care, housing and benefits as well as interpreters. The quicker we get our borders under control and stop economic migration the better we will be. France has had a language law for immigrants for years - did anyone hear the rest of the world shouting unfair?
