let's do a reality check

Published: Thursday October 29,2009 by Tomas

Yes, Broon has made many, many mistakes as Chancellor and PM, but before we start stringing him up for every known error since the days of King Canute, let's do a reality check and not forget the real cause at the root of the UK's financial woes...NO MANUFACTURING BASE!

It goes back to good old Maggie's driving compulsion to crush the unions, no bad thing say many, but unfortunately she threw the baby out with the bath water when she failed to mold the unions into contributed to the economy as opposed to her desire to crush them forever. The results; no car industry (other than assembly plants), no shipbuilding, no coal mines, nobody making anything worth selling except the City & Banks flogging money for nothing schemes and the defence industry selling to the government at fantastic over inflated prices and all this propped up quietly in the background by North Sea oil.

This is the real reason we are seeing the main players in Europe and the US starting to pull out of recession and as long as we have governments that are happy to let the economy be driven by the city financial sector do not expect a recovery in the near future.
