Here we go again...

...bring back the old opening hours when we were treated like kids and asked if we had a home to go to att 11pm whilst the rest of Europe was left to be treated like adults.
We still have pubs open for less than anywhere inEurope, over 90% being shut by midnight after opening at lunchtime. That is hardly 24 hour opening. And these self-righteous people who call for a return to the old hours obviously don't consider the large amount of people on shifts. Obviously they aren't entitled to a social life, just those who worl 9-5.
People who recall the 60's and 70's as a golden age when young people didn't drink much must have grown up in a different country to the one here.
The reason these cahanges were brought in was because there was a problem with the old hours. Talk of a problem suddenly appearing in the last 2 years is ridiculous.
Restrict supermarkets and other outlets and restrict alcohol to licenced premises. And have more places, like on the continent ,where people of all ages feel comfortable instead of places which only appeal to the under 25's.
Germany, as imilar country to our, has pubs open for far longer than us with no signs of trouble. They do, however, unlike ourselves, have an efficient late night ransport system and police who don't wait for something to happen but who are seen and not afraid to come down hard on misbehaviour.
