I suggest you rewind and read theat bbc news article again. Oh yes..where in that manifesto is there anything about scrapping this " per plane" duty Brown plans to introduce?....nothing and why?...because it was the Tories idea and they agree with it.

Cameron does not think that global warming is a myth. From the telegraph 11 sept 2007..

DC: "I’m afraid I don’t agree. Most politicians aren’t scientists, so what we have to do is take the best available scientific advice. The vast majority of scientists in this country and across the world report that climate change is happening, and that man is responsible.

It simply wouldn’t be responsible to ignore such warnings just because we may find them inconvenient. The cost of ignoring these warnings if they are right would far outweigh the costs of action if they are wrong.

As for green taxes, I accept that, by using them as stealth taxes, Gordon Brown has given them a bad name. I'm determined that the Conservative approach will be different. With my Government, any new green taxes will be replacement taxes, not new stealth taxes. We will raise green taxes, and use the proceeds to reduce taxes elsewhere. That is the right direction for the environment and it's the right direction for our economy."

From the horses mouth.....REPLACEMENT taxes! Same taxes under a different name. Proof that he will not scrap them! Strange both the Conservatives and Nulabour use the term "replacement" taxes often is it not? I cannot wait to see these so called "reduced taxes"..piffle.
