Really?

I see FastAlarms is another one blaming 24hour drinking for things. What 24 hourt drinking is that then? Does he mean pubs are now open from lunchtime to midnight until midnight instead of 11 pm? Hardly 24 hours. As for 24 hour drinking was drinking banned at certain hours in your own home previously? Or could you buy something and then decide when to drink it? so in effect the only difference is you have more hours in which to buy it. A lot of countries consume more alochol than we do without constant lectures about the fact.
The remarks about playing fiels and the reduction of competitive sport though are spot on. When I look at the reduction in playing fields and school sports near to myself since my children left school 15 years ago it really is sad.
One person complained, just one , after moving into a house whose garden backed onto a school playing field (what did she think it was used for) that the noise of the under10's football club training there for 2 hours on a Saturday morning ruined her quality of life and they were banished after being there for 20 years. No doubt this person regales people with how when they were young they made their own fun and nowadays all kids want to do is hang around on street corners.
