Islamists launch PR 'war' against Western values

Published: Tuesday July 22,2008 by Iftikhar

Salaam

Majority of anti-Muslim stories about Muslims were not about extremism but about Muslim culture---the hijab, Muslim schools, family life and religiosity.

Muslims in the west ought to be recognised as a western community, not as an alient culture.

Muslim children need state funded Muslim schools with bilingual Muslim teachers as role models. They need Muslim teachers during their developmental periods.

They need to learn and be well versed in Standard English to follow the National Curriculum and go for higher studies and research to serve humanity. They need to learn and be well versed in Arabic, Urdu and other community languages to keep in touch with their cultural roots and enjoy the beauty of their literature and poetry.

A Muslim is a citizen of this tiny global village. He/she does not want to become notoriously monolingual Brit.
