CLOSE ENCOUNTER

WE had gysies set up camp on spare ground near us.

Immediately there were thefts from gardens, shed etc, I had ladders stolen.

When they were eventually forced off the land, what a disgusting mess was left, piles of rubbish, scrap etc, and worst of all used nappies piled in a heap covered in flies.

I think it must have taken about £70,000 to clean up and secure the site.
