on the news last night

I saw the new car that runs on hydrogen.
At the moment it can only travel about 30 miles before a refill but they are confident this will have increased to 100 miles by next year and will then be marketable.
It sounds great to me.
Very cheap to run.
Non polluting.
But will this quell the govts desire to tax tax tax ?
Somehow I doubt it.
