Why do the tabloids feel the need to obsess about the housing market?

Why don't you obsess about the job market or the level of crime? I'm not saying these things never get a mention, but surely it is far more important that everyone should be able to have a job and live free from the fear of crime than that a minority of twits who bought over-priced houses should be upset about feeling the pinch.
