In a few words: My home is where I live and work. I love to travel but I love to return to Englands green and pleasant lands. My grandchildren and their future is important to me. My sorrow is in the decline of simple moral values in our society.

How would you construe nationalism ?

Published: Tuesday April 15,2008 by abuela

It should not be wrong to be proud of your country.
Nationalism is in place because our ancestors fought and carved a Britain that we know today.
Our culture and heritage are valuable and should not be denied or ignored. Our past should be taught in schools and our children should have to visit the French and Belgian war graves, they should visit Austwich and other such sites. They should know how people died to protect their future.
That does not mean that we should carry on in the same old way.
Anyone who wishes to join our country should have to respect Britains history however colourful and painful that might be to incomers.
I do believe in true integration.
