ARM THE POLICE

I'm afraid the time has come when we have to do the sensible thing and arm our police. We have pussyfooted around too long being politically correct about this. You have to tackle violence with violence, not lollipops! Get real Jacqui Smith and give the police and public the protection they deserve. The police in Spain are armed and you feel safe walking the streets - they stand no nonsense and keep the streets safe for the ordinary person citizen. If we are not allowed to give these thugs the birch, then the police should be given the powers they need to make them behave! Metal detectors can play a part but unfortunately once they have located a knife or gun it could be too late! Yes there may be innocent lives lost, but what about the innocent lives of thousands of victims who should be the priority - not the crooks!
