Nuclear Power decision

Published: Monday January 7,2008 by Daveyboy

I believe the only way that the UK can meet it's energy needs in the immediate future is to make use of it's coalfields. Yes it does not square with so called global warming but technology can be used to reduce impact by means of carbon capture till we know what to do with the gases given off. The alternative is the reliance on energy supplied by potential rogue nations and we are seeing that now. We do not need all coal fired power but some to take up the slack. The spin offs in the reduction of our import bills and employment for the next 30 years or so will stave off any recession threat. We can't sit back and let Asia carry on burning coal alone while we see our economy collapse, Other methods of energy like wind and wave power etc can be brought on line at the same time with latest technology. We must make use of our own resources for a while and let the green movement go the same way as the CND,hippy and mods and rockers in the past. The nation NEEDS un-interupted snergy supply in the short term and not the minority tree huggers, let them go and help any nation that welcomes them, when push comes to shove ALL nations will look after number one.
