BROWN WILL NEVER RESTORE LABOUR'S FORTUNES

Sunday May 4,2008

Brown and the Labour Government have alienated both the public and business

IT IS DIFFICULT to conceive of a scenario in which Gordon Brown restores Labour's fortunes to a degree that he can extend his stay at Number 10 Downing Street thanks to the British electorate.

Especially so if in the time the nation is obliged to wait before the Prime Minister is forced to call a General Election, David Cameron and the Conservatives make good on their promise to come up with some workable policies.

Even if the economy revives between now and then, the inadequacies of Brown when Chancellor and his successor at the Treasury, Alistair Darling, will neither be forgiven nor forgotten.

From the tax raid on the UK's pension funds in 1997 right up to date with the Northern Rock debacle, Labour has sold the public short either by cock-up or conspiracy. Sometimes it has been a combination of both.

The U-turn forced by the Party's own backbenchers triggered by the scrapping of the 10 per cent tax band is only the latest example of how out of touch Brown has become.

But then his reputation for competence as Chancellor owes much to the sound economy he inherited from the Tories - and then from following their spending plans for the first couple of years in Government.

We are now discovering how as the years rolled by Brown's unfettered spending requires both higher taxes and borrowing to make the sums begin to add up.

He never put anything aside for a rainy day - or to extend the meteorological analogy "he didn't fix the roof while the sun was shining."

Behind the Capital Gains Tax furore and the attack on the non-doms is a desire to top up the Treasury's coffers.

No bad thing to make business pay, you may well feel. But to do so with ill-thought out plans, that have to be tinkered with when their shortcomings are exposed leaves the Government open to ridicule.

Its business-friendly overtures have been exposed as a sham. Labour has alienated both the public and business.

I don't share the joke when it is said that Gordon Brown was put on earth to make Tony Blair look good. The former Prime Minister was a master of spin and self-advancement whose 'sins' I don't need to remind you of here.

David Cameron should use the time available to him to ensure that come the next General Election he can form a Government with the right ministers and the right policies that this country deserves.

Yes, IT IS DIFFICULT to conceive of a scenario in which Dictator Prudence Brown restores Labour's fortunes........

IF we have to wait another two years before we hold a general election, then I dread to think what sort of mess this country will be in by that time.

MUGABE AND DICTATOR PRUDENCE BROWN HAVE MUCH IN COMMON. They have both lined their pockets at the expense of hard-working taxpayers.

MUGABE DOES NOT LISTEN. DICTATOR PRUDENCE BROWN DOES NOT KNOW THE MEANING OF THE WORD "LISTEN".

I have a friend living in Zimbabwe. Even he WILL NOT come to the UK - what? To get mugged, robbed and/or shot? He is actually safer living in a second-rate banana republic than he would be in the UK.

Thank you DICTATOR PRUDENCE BROWN. Thank you for bringing England to its knees.

CHICKEN!!!!!

04.05.2008, 3:50pm

Gordon Brown-I am English & for the past 11 yrs have witnessed your Labour Government treat this nation like a barn full of Battery Hens.
We have been forced into tighter and ever smaller quarters with promises that as long as we continue to produce the Golden Eggs all will be well.
Don;t think, don't move, hardly dare to breathe. The State will take care of everything. We can be fed, watered, cared for etc., etc., but we mustn't THINK!!!
Well me, I'm a kinda free-range chick. I like to make up my own mind, do my own thing. I'm sick of shelling out so that your young roosters can strut their stuff and for you to be cock-of-the-walk.
Last Thursday all your chickens came home to roost. The sands of time turned over in the egg-timer. Boris was the Beater. ME - I'm Eggstatic!!!

BROWN WANTS US TO FORGET THE ELEPHANTS IN THE ROOM

05.05.2008, 1:00am

Tax is not the only problem!

The traitor Brown has blatantly conned us into voting Labour in the belief that we would get a referendum on the treacherous EU Con Treaty. The traitor Brown has failed to control our borders to the extent that our country is becoming more and more unrecognisable by the day. The traitor Brown has given away British money and British work to foreigners and has actually lost more British jobs for British workers than I would care to count, despite his promises to the contrary.

Why therefore did the traitor Brown not mention the above concerns when he tried to look contrite on the TV on Sunday? Is the traitor Brown trying to change the news agenda again? Is the traitor Brown trying to make us look away from what he is really doing to our country?

British workers are not stupid, Mr Brown. We are not going to let you hoodwink us that easily.

We don't believe you are listening and we don't believe you feel our pain. You are out of touch Mr Brown and we emand that you go.

General Election now!

BREATHTAKING ARROGANCE...........

05.05.2008, 7:57am

With breathtaking arrogance Brown went on TV yesterday and tried to say "I am one of you" to the millions of hard working decent people he has betrayed. He has spoken to no memebrs of the public since thursday yet again he knows what we want.......more of the same.
He has not grasped, and probably never will, the degree of anguish felt over taxation.
Fuel tax, road tax, bin tax. road toll tax, community charge tax, the abloition of 10p tax hurt many people but benefited the rich.
Remember this is the man who gave pensioners 25p but claimed Sky subscription on his expenses.

LABOUR CAN STILL WIN IF THEY GIVE US THE PROMISED REFERENDUM

05.05.2008, 8:16am

Brown must go not because of his personality but because of his broken promises, especially refusing a referendum on Europe when he had clearly made a pledge that the British people should have one. Labour can still win if they give us a referendum on Europe.
